BEGINNER QUILTING GROUP

GROUP WILL INCLUDE:

  • ‍ ‍‍ ‍Introduction to basic skills to begin making quilts

  • Instruction from a variety of experienced quilters

  • Time to ask questions about your quilting projects

FORMAT:

  • Classes run from September – May, at the 1912 Center

  • Meet from 6:30-8:30 pm, 2nd Tuesday of the month

  • ‍There are additional optional sewing support times on Saturdays.

‍ ‍INSTRUCTION TOPICS:

‍ ‍Each month, instructors focus on one or two quilting technique(s), and students complete one or more blocks using the new technique. By the end of the year, each student will have completed a quilt from start to finish.

  • Fabric selection/prep            

  • Cutting/sewing                 

  • Pressing                   

  • Triangles                            

  • Applique (hand and machine)

  • Paper piecing

  • Borders/sandwiching

  • Quilting

  • Binding 

GROUP COST AND SIZE:

  • No charge

  • Group limited to first 12 to sign up
